By now, everyone knows the aversion that Bob Hoffman , known as the Ad Contrarian , feels towards advertising in the digital world and although through his blog he does not stop trying to raise awareness of the dangers of this universe, it seems that this medium is not enough.
That is why he has decided to launch a book entitled "BADMEN: How Advertising Went From A Minor Annoyance To A Major Menace" , which compiles what he considers to be bad practices in digital advertising.
“I think the monopolistic powers of some tech giants have gotten out of hand. I think the idea that ‘the consumer is in charge’ is the biggest nonsense we’ve ever been fed,” Hoffman explains.
And this is what the book is about. But also, he says, "about how advertising agencies and holding companies have become lapdogs of the online advertising industry and, in the process, have lost their credibility."
But it also addresses issues such as fraud, hacking, fake news and all those "stumbling australia phone number blocks that make the digital advertising business a real ray of light."
Without a doubt, a read in which there is no shortage of criticism and in whose pages we will find Hoffman in all his essence, speaking at ease about an industry that has been affected and, in his opinion, almost sunk.
