Let’s face it, people might think of “engagement” as “they just want me to do more work,” but when you ask people if they want something on the above list, most will eagerly nod their heads.
People don’t even necessarily need everything on this list; just one bullet point might be enough to change the way they think about their work, their role in it, and their choices about what to invest in. Once people see the benefits to themselves (and not just to the organization) of choosing to participate, you’ve succeeded.
