Big data and its political application

Post by monira444 »

Big Data is based on 5 pillars, the so-called 5 V's: Volume, Velocity, Variety, Veracity and Value. The first three refer to the large amount of data generated in a short space of time (which can be relative), and its diversity.

You've probably heard the expression Fake News , right? It has to do with the 4th V, Veracity is the guarantee of the authenticity of the data, if the sources of that information are reliable and of quality.

The last V, Value, refers to the real benefit of that data for the organization, the return it is capable of offering.

Software capable of transforming huge amounts of data ghana mobile database into useful and relevant information is called Big Data Analytics. According to the Big Data Business website , the main features of this type of software are:

'- They are focused on the processing of structured and unstructured data, as well as the correlations and discoveries that can arise from this processing;

- They analyze what already exists and what is to come, pointing out new paths;

- Ideal for when you want to explore new possibilities, discover new patterns and explore questions that have not yet been asked;

- Broader, aimed not only at business, but at any area/segment, such as health, entertainment, education.'

Politics can benefit greatly from Big Data. Want to know how? That’s what we’ll learn in the next topic.

The use of Big Data in politics arrives in Brazil mainly with the changes in electoral campaign laws that began to allow paid posts ( but following the TSE rules , such as only being published in a specific period and not carrying out attacks on other parties and candidates, among others).

Big Data in politics allows for the hyper-segmentation of the public, in this case voters and potential voters. Politicians and parties can adapt their discourse to various niches. This makes social media excellent tools for electoral campaigns.
