What to watch in cinemas in January 2025
1. "The Wizard of the Emerald City. The Yellow Brick Road" - a film based on the fairy tale by Alexander Volkov
The first in a series of screen adaptations of children's books by Alexander Volkov, which in turn are based on the works of L. Frank Baum about the land of Oz, will tell about the adventures of the girl Ellie and her unusual friends - the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman and the Cowardly Lion - in the Magic Land. Igor Voloshin, who recently shot the successful film about Fyodor Konyukhov "Lord of the Wind", is responsible for the production of the film.
The Wizard of the Emerald City will be released in Russian cinemas on January 1.

Another fantasy film, this time an ancient Russian one, will compete with The Wizard of the Emerald City on the big screen – the story of the mighty hero Finist the Bright Falcon. 3. "Knock on My Tver" - a film about a brutal farmer with Pavel Priluchny
In a new comedy with a rather hackneyed plot, a metropolitan businesswoman (Maria Gorban) travels to the Tver hinterland to convince the owner of a local farm (Pavel Priluchny) to sell the land to her company. He resists, and during the negotiations the snobbish madam begins to develop romantic feelings for the Russian peasant.
