The Groupon business model took the world by storm almost a decade ago with its high discount coupons. How is it doing now, after many ups and downs? Let’s take an in-depth look. Founded in 2008, Groupon has gained fame and customers in different parts of the world by offering coupons and vouchers of up to 70% off on hundreds of products and services, from food to travel, mainly through local brick-and-mortar businesses.
Groupon’s business model, then, is based on a simple task: being the middleman. And while many usa student data believe the company is in decline—and indeed it has had a tough time during its existence—Groupon’s numbers remain quite positive, with over 200 bi-app downloads, 38 million active users, and over 1.5 billion bi-sales coupons.
