So, let's say your prospective client is now participating in the Buy Local program. Great! Now where do we go from here?
Speaking with Jeff Milchan, I asked what he’s seen in terms of digital marketing being used to promote businesses involved in the Buy Local campaign. He said that, while some coalitions have workshops, it’s a work in progress and they hope to grow in the future.
As a local SEO, that future is now yours and your bolivia number data clients’. Here are some ways I see it working beautifully:
Basic data distribution and consistency.
Small local businesses can sometimes be unaware of inconsistent or absent local business listings, because the owners are so busy. The quickest way I know to demo this scenario is to plug in the company name and zip into the free Moz Checklisting tool to show them how they’re doing on the majors. Fix data errors and fill in gaps, either manually, or using affordable software like Moz Local . You’ll also want to make sure the client has a presence on any geo- or industry-specific directories and platforms. This is something your agency can really help with!
A hyper-localized content powerhouse
Create proud content around the company's participation in the Buy Local program.
Write about all the economic, environmental, and social benefits that patronizing a residential business can bring.
Motivated independents take the time to get to know their customers. It has stories. Write about customers and their needs. I’ve even seen independent restaurants name menu items after beloved patrons. Get personal. Build community.
Don't forget that even small towns can be powerful tourist attractions. بنائیںtravelers and new neighbors feel welcome too!
Lifelong link-building opportunities
Circling back to the web — our local health!
