Here's what I'm going to focus on in 2024

Post by jrineakter »

Hello dear friends and welcome to this new episode of Walk with Johan. It is always a great pleasure to meet you and to be able to talk about personal development very often or in any case to provide you with content in authentic French. It simply allows you to practice your understanding of native speakers and it allows you, I hope, to learn things too.

So today, we're going to talk about the year 2024. I'm going to share with you the things that I'm going to focus on. But before that, I'd like to ask you, if you haven't already, to share this podcast kuwait whatsapp number data with your friends and give it a 5-star rating, if it helps you. It helps us a lot and it helps spread the word, as they say in French.

So today, we're going to talk about this new year that has started and I'm going to tell you the things I intend to focus on. So already, this year, I'm not going to set myself any goals, no measurements, because I've seen that, year after year, setting yourself numerical goals, goals with a real number to reach, well that can bring counterproductive stress and I don't need that to be motivated. I'm super motivated, I love what I do, I love the work I do for Français Authentique and I don't need to add extra pressure to simply go faster and further. I can do it without it.

And we are always told: "you have to set goals and these goals have to be SMART". So I don't know exactly. I think S is simple, M is measurable, A must be achievable, etc. It doesn't matter. In any case, we recommend that you set yourself numerical goals, and that's good. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that in itself. When you run, you can set a time to reach.

But at the stage I am currently at, I prefer not to set myself a quantified objective and to work on processes, on repeated actions, recurring actions, which will allow me to achieve the best possible results with the kaizen spirit, that is to say I set myself actions that will bring the results automatically. For example, I can set myself the objective of publishing a YouTube video per week. And that, automatically, will improve the results of Français Authentique. And I prefer now, really, to focus on the process, on continuous improvement and on providing authentic content to help you.

So rather than setting myself numerical goals, I set myself areas, I call them focus areas, things that I focus on. And we've talked about this a lot in past episodes, I'm working on simplicity. Yes, I've said it a lot, I've talked about it a lot, but I have a tendency to complicate things and it's certainly better to do less but better. So I try to stop adding new things, new projects, and I focus on improving what exists. And that's true for my personal life, it's true for Français Authentique, it's true for the academy in particular.

I'm going to talk about it a little bit, but in the past, I tended to say: "Come on, the academy is the best platform for learning French online and we offer lots of things and we need to add more projects." And I realized that ultimately the academy, as it is, already offers everything. It has everything. There are modules, meetings with tutors, dictations, SOS sheets to also work on the somewhat theoretical aspects (grammar, conjugation, pronunciation, vocabulary), but in a fun and enjoyable way. We have workshops, we have a reading club, we have private Telegram and Facebook groups, we have everything we need, the Zoom room 24 hours a day for members to progress. And there's no point in adding other things or you have to do it after thinking a lot.
