The Disadvantages of Google AMP

Post by shaownhasan »

Some of the main advantages of Google AMP include:

It is a free and open source standard that anyone can contribute to.
It allows you to optimize the browsing experience of visitors by reducing the number of elements called up
Increase the speed of consultation of site contents
Makes it easier to be considered in the Google Carousel
It works on any device and requires a tenth of the chinese singapore phone number list data of the normal view.
Allows good readability
Well, all that glitters is not gold! Unfortunately, this technological standard for quick mobile consultation also has some disadvantages that you should be aware of.

First of all, if your editorial project plans to monetize through ads , keep in mind that their compatibility with AMP is not at all guaranteed to be 100% (and the same goes for contact forms, which can obviously be part of call to action strategies).

As we have said, the graphics also suffer from the minimal display needed to reduce loading times, so the visual strength of the content aimed at conversions can evidently suffer.

Furthermore, since we are faced with an additional technological “scaffolding”, the monitoring of visit statistics must be appropriately integrated for all pages introduced in AMP.

As you might imagine, Google AMP is not a panacea that can solve a pre-existing shortage of visitors: you won't magically get new users if there isn't attractive and original content at the base, at most you can hope that those who already follow you will be satisfied by the instant loading speed .

As you can understand, the dilemma is whether it is worth sacrificing everything in terms of access to the "real" content of the site in order to ensure excellent loading speed for our visitors, or whether it is better to preserve our right to actually let people enter our portal, at the cost of losing something in terms of viewing time.
