The King Goes, the King Comes

Post by asimj1 »

It is a surprise that is not one. After 13 years, Hanspeter Lebrument is stepping down as publisher president. It had been rumored for a long time, but now it is definite. When Lebrument, now 75, was elected representative of Swiss publishers in Interlaken in 2003, it was a veritable coup. The "Somedia" publisher was considered a rebel and lateral thinker.

The presidency that followed was also somewhat japan rcs data shaped by this: things were never boring with Lebrument. With his gnarly and charming manner, the charismatic Graubünden native left his mark on the association; his speeches were always surprising and pointed, even if they occasionally missed the mark.

The Lebrument era was a good one. It was only marred by Ringier's abrupt withdrawal from the association exactly a year ago, which led to a climate change not only within the group but also in the entire industry.

It was foreseeable that Pietro Supino, the all-powerful Tamedia publisher, would be Lebrument's successor. Although just a year ago, in a " personal" interview, the 50-year-old answered "no" when asked whether he wanted to become president in 2016. When I asked whether this was really the case, he repeated: "In very large letters: NO." But opinions can change. And in the past year, since the announcement of Admeira, a lot has changed.
