Mobile apps are devalued

Post by tanjimajuha20 »

After years of impressive double-digit growth that saw mobile apps reach more people than ever before, the global app industry is set to decline in 2022 for the first time in the market’s history, according to data provided by SafeBettingSites.com. Global consumer spending on mobile apps fell by $3 billion last year.

" The majority of apps colombia mobile number database available in app stores are free to download. However, the growth in global consumer spending on apps over the past decade has demonstrated a healthy appetite for premium services and paid app content , " the analysts said.

According to Data.ai’s The State of Mobile 2023 study, global consumer spending on mobile apps has been growing at double-digit rates for years, with 2017 marking an all-time high. That year, consumers worldwide spent $82.1 billion on subscriptions and in-app purchases, up 42% from the year before.

In 2018, global consumer spending grew by another 23% to reach $100 billion. According to statistics, in 2019, 2020 and 2021, there was an increase of 18% compared to the previous year. In 2021 alone, consumers around the world spent $170 billion on mobile apps, largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the surge in mobile app usage.

However, after two years of app usage growth, gross consumer spending on apps fell 2% to $167 billion, indicating a gradual normalization of spending dynamics. The decline was also driven by recessions in several key markets, which changed consumer spending behavior.

A study by Data.ai found that the number of app downloads worldwide has grown steadily since 2016, surpassing 200 billion in 2019. Over the next two years, downloads increased by another 25 billion, reaching 230 billion worldwide. “ This is not surprising given that the average smartphone user spends more than two hours a day on social and gaming apps, and thousands of new apps hit the market every month,” the study’s authors noted.

Last year, consumers downloaded 255 billion mobile apps to their connected devices, up 10% from 2021 and 82% from 2016. The number of downloads is expected to grow to more than 262 billion this year, and jump to more than 300 billion by 2025.

There are three domestic stores of applications for mobile devices in Russia - RuMarket, Nash Store, RuStore .
