Twitter plans to verify all its accounts

Post by jrine »

The famous “Twitter verification” was opened in 2016. Since then, and until a few months ago when it blocked new verifications, anyone could request the “blue badge” that certifies the authenticity of the account.

But as you know, not all accounts were verified, but only those of relevant or famous people in different fields of activity such as music, politics, religion, journalism, sports... in short, areas of public interest that also provided a series of "receipts" or requirements.

Initially, and in summary, it was enough to have the account information completely complete (including the birthday), prove that you were the person or brand of the account in question, fill out a form (in English) in which you gave the reason why you wanted to verify the profile, and wait to receive news from the United States, which usually did not take more than a week and a half.

A priori, the advantages that israel telegram data a verified Twitter account could offer were few and perhaps somewhat basic:

Having a special filter of notifications between verified accounts, which allowed for more and better contact between apparently “influential” accounts .
Have better positioning in the search system of this network.
And get an improved statistics panel , with some options that the conventional one does not offer.
In addition to these three items, the verified Twitter account granted a kind of “certification of value” , a badge that increased (in the eyes of many) your brand image, by being among the select group of “verificators” .

Personally, I must tell you that I never tried to get a verified account on Twitter, not because I didn't want to increase my brand image, but I preferred (and I prefer) to try to provide valuable content to my followers, and that they are the ones who, in a "testimonial" way , give me the label, not an email received from the other side of the world...

Well, the latest news coming directly from the CEO of Larry's company, J. Dorsey , shows that a major change in the verification policy is brewing. The idea is that all accounts can be verified, once the system is reopened. Dorsey, through a Periscope, argued the company's desire to open the possibility of verification to all accounts on the social network, giving more strength to the profiles candidates to prove their worth, and giving less weight to the opinion of those responsible for Twitter who validated this process.

The microblogging social network's managers are also not providing any further information. They will probably do so when they reopen the verification system.

My advice: don't pay much attention to this article or to the verifications themselves. Work so that your readers are the ones who thank you for useful content, valuable information, or a profitable and cordial Twitter debate. Obviously, they can help you know that these are really official profiles, but little else. Does having a blue badge like Gasol, Infojobs or Susanna Griso give us more reputation ? Well, I really don't know. What is clear is that they indicate that they are famous people, companies, athletes, but personally I prefer to have the positive evaluation of my small community, than a blue, green or yellow "label" validated by people who don't know me.
