Japan's must-sees: our favorite regionsCulture

Post by sakib40 »

Upon arriving in the country, we are directly confronted with several aspects very different from the West. Etiquette is the most visible, in particular with respect for others, courtesy and cleanliness that must be applied upon arrival. If you want to greet people, no kisses or handshakes, just a slight bow to show your respect. Renowned for their punctuality, the Japanese are always on time and even early! Whether it is for the train, reservations, restaurants...

The language barrier can be a problem for many people, but don’t let it stop you, there is always a way to communicate with the locals. They really appreciate it if you know a few words like hello, goodbye, thank you…

During our family stay in Japan, we used Google Translate oral and the exchanges line data were numerous. The family did not speak English and we do not speak Japanese but the use of translation allowed us to exchange, to do workshops with them, and to participate together in their activities. It is a very good memory that enriched our trip.

Regions visited
Japan has a variety of rich landscapes, the advice would be to explore several and not limit yourself to the capital. For our part we visited the region of KYUSHU with Fukuoka, SHUGOKU with Hiroshima, KINKI with Kyoto and Osaka, CHUBU with Nagoya and Kawasaki, KANTO with Tokyo.
