The first step is a step of introspection

Post by jrineakter »

Introspection is asking yourself questions about yourself, knowing what your qualities are, what your faults are, what are the things you like to do, the things you don't like to do. We really have to ask ourselves these basic questions about ourselves. It really allows us to define who we are and what we want, what we don't want, so it allows us to establish a vision. You've probably already heard the very famous quote from Socrates, which was actually inscribed on the temple of Delphi, "know thyself". "Know thyself", it's a super important key.

The second step is to act in a way that your actions are in line with who you are and what you want. Your actions must be based on your qualities and ignore your flaws. Your actions must be in line with what you like to do, that your vision is respected.

So, that's simply it, huh. First, we try to know ourselves, and then, we act according to who we are. There is another very famous quote from the Greek poet Pindar who said: "become who you are by discovering who you are". It comes back a little to saying what I was saying, try to know yourself and act according to who you are. This work of knowing yourself is a prerequisite for personal development and ignoring it is really a big mistake.

Second mistake: thinking that there is only one truth. It's a common trap, huh. We listen to podcasts or watch videos or read books by people who are super inspiring and we have the impression hong kong whatsapp number data that what these people say is true, always true in all circumstances and for everyone. However, we really need the context. What is good for you is not necessarily good for me. That's why we need to know ourselves well. That's why there is not a single universal truth that is valid for everyone, but there are intermediate areas. It's never all black or all white.

And this is especially true when it comes to nutrition or exercise. Often, you're going to follow gurus, people who have strong opinions, and following what they tell you is not necessarily the best thing for you.

And even worse than believing that there is only one truth is believing that there is a magic formula, something that you will apply and that will immediately solve all your problems. When I do this thing, then everything will be fine, or when I have performed this action, my life will be perfect. All of this, we all know that it is not true, that it does not work like that. So it is a big mistake to think that there is a magic recipe or universal truths.
