Both of these upscaling technologies can do wonders when it comes to increasing frame rates, and if you haven’t seen them in action yet, read the benchmark section of this article to see what I mean. There’s more to the story than raw performance, though. Image quality matters too: how sharp everything looks, how well textures are applied and how well they look in motion, and last but not least, how lighting effects like reflections or shadows are rendered.

While playing and testing Cyberpunk 2077 , The First Descendant , and Star Wars Outlaws , I noticed that image quality varied slightly depending on the upscaling technology you used.

In Cyberpunk 2077, in a neon city, details were well india mobile database preserved whether I used DLSS or FSR. However, in the Balanced preset , I noticed a couple of subtle differences. With DLSS enabled, the game renders the image slightly sharper than FSR in areas with a lot of detail, such as text, graffiti, or neon signs, as well as on distant objects. FSR produces a similar result, and it’s quite difficult to see any obvious differences from DLSS when looking at screenshots still images. However, when there’s a lot of movement involved, I tend to favor DLSS over FSR, as it seems to provide a smoother gameplay experience that looks better.
