As with most things in SEO, the first step is keyword research. Research keywords that you already rank for and keywords that have featured snippets. Why is it important to focus on keywords you already rank for? Because 99.58% of featured snippets come from page one for that keyword. So if you’re not already in the top 10, your chances of ranking in a Featured Snippet are zero.
How do you find featured snippet opportunities? The Ahrefs “Organic Keywords” report. It’ll show you a keyword you rank for… and also have a featured snippet:

2. Add Snippet Bait to your page
