According to Kindervag, this illustrates one of the biggest challenges not just in AppSec, but in the transition to zero trust in the cloud and beyond. Too many organizations simply don’t have the right incentives in place to make it happen — and, in fact, many have perverse incentives that end up rewarding unsafe practices.
zero trust centers of excellence within enterprises that involve not just technologists but also business leaders in the planning, development, and ongoing decision-making. When these cross-functional teams come together, he says, he sees “incentive structures change in real time” when a powerful business leader steps forward and says How to Get the Most Out of Network Automation

Network automation is gaining momentum. Experts interviewed by Network Computing tell us how to fully unleash the potential of this powerful technology.
Network automation takes advantage of programmable logic to manage network services and resources. This approach enables network operations (NetOps) teams to configure, scale, secure, and integrate network infrastructure and application services much faster than manual operations.
Until recently, most network operations were cameroon mobile database manually. “With AI, everything has to be faster, better and easier, so manual operations cannot continue,” says Mattias Fridström, vice president and chief evangelist at telecoms provider Arelion. “Operators who understand this and take control of their network automation strategy in the coming years will ensure their success.”
Solving Problems with Network Automation
Nikos Katinakis, CTO of telecom infrastructure company Zayo, notes that most networks have different pieces of automation. To get the most out of network automation, he recommends developing a plan that addresses each piece, so that at some point they all come together. “It’s a complex puzzle that requires a strategy,” he says. “Piece solutions that fix one small part of the problem may provide immediate relief to a specific pain point, but they won’t move the organization forward in any meaningful way.”
the organization is going to move in that direction.
“The most successful zero trust initiatives have been those that have involved business leaders,” says Kindervag. “In one manufacturing company, the executive vice president — one of the top leaders in the company — became the champion of the move to zero trust in the manufacturing environment. And it went very smoothly because there were no barriers.”
