Once a row is locked

Post by asimd23 »

When you share a base, even if it is read-only, you expose all the data stored in the base. With a shared view, recipients only have access to the data they should see.

Do you want to share a base with other team members but want israel rcs data to prevent them from changing the contents of one or more rows? Then SeaTable 1.2 has exactly what you need: the new row locking feature.

Right-clicking on a cell will bring up the row's context menu, where you will find a new option 'Lock Row'. a red triangle will appear in the top right corner of the row number. Repeat the process to unlock it. Base administrators (base owners as well as group administrators) can unlock any row; other users can only unlock rows they have locked themselves.

In addition to row locking, Base administrators can also restrict access to certain columns. With SeaTable 1.2 you can decide who can edit entries in a column: nobody, only admins, or certain users. Needless to say, column permissions can of course be combined with row locking.

Column permissions are available for all column types. Open the column context menu and select 'Edit Column Permissions'. The wizard that pops up will guide you through the rest.
