Rostelecom and Tele2 will sign forward contracts for the purchase of Russian equipment for ₽20–25 billion. Other major players are preparing similar agreements. The deal scheme may become an example for other industries
Rostelecom has signed a forward contract (involves the delivery of goods of a specified quality and quantity on a certain date in the future) for the supply of fiber-optic jordan cell phone number list communication line equipment with T8 and is preparing, together with its subsidiary T2 RTK Holding (provides services under the Tele2 brand), to sign several more similar contracts with domestic vendors by the end of the year. This was reported by Rostelecom Senior Vice President for Technical Infrastructure Alexey Sapunov, speaking on Tuesday, October 25, at the Spectrum 2022 forum organized by Roskomnadzor, an RBC correspondent reports.
In particular, Rostelecom is agreeing on the terms of contracts: with Bulat for the production of routers; with QTech for the production of switches; with the merger of NTR and Bulat for the production in 2023 of base stations supporting second and fourth generation communication standards (2G and 4G), which will be used for the project to eliminate digital inequality and corporate networks; with ICS Holding (Yadro brand) for the production in 2025 of base stations supporting 2G and 4G, and in the future 5G; T2 RTK Holding intends to conclude a forward contract with the network core supplier, Protei.
As Sapunov explained, forward contracts were concluded within the framework of the work of the industrial competence center for mobile networks. Such contracts, according to him, will provide guaranteed demand for manufacturers and may involve an advance payment to finance the development of the product. In addition, the products will be tested in Rostelecom laboratories and pilot zones organized by the operator.
