A representative of the press service of ZAO ConsultantPlus told a ComNews correspondent that the database of the same name is optimized for other domestic Linux-based operating systems, including Astra Linux, Alt Linux, and Red OS. He noted that Uncom OS is a relatively young system, but is widely used in medical institutions, schools, and small and medium-sized businesses. It took several months to optimize it, and a separate division of the company was involved.

"ConsultantPlus" is developing a version of the product for Linux. For an easy transition to our OS, we have made possible a combined version of using "ConsultantPlus", when the local "ConsultantPlus" database is located on a local machine in the Linux version, and the client part in the Windows version can work stably on our Uncom OS," said Nikita Kocherzhenko.
According to him, Uncom OS supports the most popular formats dep and Flatpack, and the company cooperates with developers of AI solutions for intelligent information processing Content AI and ContentReader PDF. The OS runs office programs R7 Office and many others.
"There will be many fruitful collaborations. We are organizing joint working groups with software development companies to develop our Uncom OS operating system, understanding what application developers need and suggesting to them how and in what way Linux-based operating systems will develop," noted Nikita Kocherzhenko.
Competitors
A representative of the press service of Red Soft LLC said that the company does not consider Uncom OS as a full-fledged competitor to Red OS, for which more than 1.5 thousand products of application software, including Consultant Plus, have been optimized. According to him, depending on the complexity of the software and whether it has been adapted for Linux, developers spend on average from several days to several months to optimize a product for Red OS.
However, according to Roman Mylitsyn, head of the department of promising technologies of the Astra Group, we should not talk about competition between different Linux distributions, but about competition between ecosystem and infrastructure software, in which the operating system is only a part. He said that more than 1.7 thousand vendors of software and computing equipment in the Astra Linux OS environment have been checked.
