Now it will also help users know if the video is exactly what they are looking for , or even, from the search page, navigate directly to the chapter they are interested in.
“Let’s say you’re looking for a good dough recipe, and you want to work on your kneading technique. With these new search results you can see all the steps in the video, from starting to rise the dough with yeast, to taking the bread out of the oven and going straight to the kneading chapter,” wrote Pablo Paniagua , director of Product Management , on the YouTube blog .
Another of the updates that YouTube is improving its search engine with is the recommendation of videos with subtitles. Taking the example above, let's say you can't find a good video for making dough in belgium business email database Spanish, YouTube could recommend a tutorial in French with automatically translated subtitles, titles and descriptions.
To start, the social network will begin to complement search results with spoken videos in English, but will gradually expand to more languages.
Google search results, inside YouTube
And for now, in India and Indonesia, YouTube will also be testing a feature to boost its results with links to external websites, based on results from Google's search engine.
“Not every search may have enough relevant or high-quality video content to fully address what you’re looking for ,” Paniagua explained in his post.
This proposal is in line with tests carried out at the end of last year, when Google experimented with a mobile search function that recommended videos from TikTok and Instagram, but the video opened within its search engine, with the aim of keeping users on Google, instead of directing the user to the TikTok or Instagram app.
