More than 70 years of Seat's advertising history, decade by decade: we review some of its most iconic ads

DSince its foundation in 1950, SEAT (an acronym for Sociedad Española de Automóviles Turismo) has been one of the most popular Spanish brands. Forever embedded in the country's collective memory through iconic models such as the Seiscientos, SEAT cars have been part of the evolution of the country and its society. Now, several decades after passing into the hands of the Volkswagen Group, this brand endures. Although its shine is fading at times, it continues to generate affection and a certain sense of belonging, as was recently demonstrated: in the face of rumours that the brand could disappear, replaced by Cupra , SEAT once again became the focus of the conversation on Twitter/X, where users recalled their relationship with it.


So much so that Volkswagen's management (headed by iceland number data CEO Thomas Schäfer) has had to address the rumours and explain that SEAT will not disappear for the time being, although its role within the group will evolve.

Inside Seat (2017)
Although we will go in chronological order, we will start with one of the most recent, precisely because it compiles SEAT's legacy in our country. This 2017 campaign focused on nostalgia, narrating the beginning of the 600, produced from 1957 to 1973, and how it had a great influence on a generation where taboos reigned. "In a time when everything was forbidden, it gave us freedom ," says the voiceover.
