A good digital transformation does not start with a check on the table

In the next 5 years, 4 out of 10 companies will disappear , and in the next decade, 47% of the jobs we know today will disappear.

Undoubtedly, releasing these figures point-blank can be truly terrifying, but the truth is that they respond to a profound social change in which we find ourselves immersed.

In recent years, the rapid development of technology and the digital universe has given rise to a new paradigm of communication, different consumer habits and demands, and the emergence of different needs for companies.

At a time when falling behind is too costly, the so-called digital transformation is taking on unprecedented relevance and is no longer just a trend but a real obligation for survival in a market where competition is fierce.

To discover the keys to how companies should approach this digitalization and resolve some doubts that concern the industry such as the replacement of humans by robots, Daniel Marote , CEO of Hydra.Digital and user lover par excellence, has chatted with Silvia Leal , Expert in Inno-Leadership and Digital Transformation, and Jorge Urrea , Expert in Personal and Professional Development and authors of the book "Ingenuity, Sex and Passion", in the sixth program of "A Coffee with Dani Marote".


Silvia Leal begins by highlighting that we are facing a real challenge, but she belgium phone number also recognises that "it comes with much greater opportunities and if we do it well, many jobs and companies with business models will be created that we cannot afford to miss" but still, she says, "we are trying to understand what all this is about".

But what has caused the changes that are already taking place in the market? For Urrea, the key lies in the fear of losing one's job, which acts as a motivation for change.

It is therefore a combination of the technological and human factors because, explains Leal, no matter how much technology we have, if we do not have the talent in action we will not get anywhere. It is a cultural change.

However, most people feel a certain vertigo when faced with change. In this sense, Leal points out that awareness is essential to adapt to the new and the unknown.

"We are facing a scary situation, but we must be curious and set out to solve it and come out a winner. We must move from complaining to action and, above all, be very curious about technology."

Urrea applies this same idea to his personal life, as he explains that "relationships disappear just like business models."

"Permanent jobs, as we know them today, will disappear sooner or later and we will move to a collaborative model in which I choose what I want to do and everything becomes much more fluid. It's scary to see it from here but when you start working like this you see that it makes sense," adds Leal.

As for companies, to drive change, "each person's leadership style is very important. If we want companies to innovate, we need people who lead by example ," says Leal.

However, companies do not measure these types of factors, even though, he says, it can be done. Recognizing and communicating good work, giving autonomy and rewarding it are some of the variables that must be quantified.

There are many people who are reluctant to change, but at this point, rigidity is not a valid attitude and, says Urrea, "they will end up disappearing. People who are not flexible should know that it is something that can be trained" both mentally and physically.
