Snapchat redesigns itself to differentiate itself from Facebook

Snapchat wants to differentiate itself more and more from Facebook. So far, investors have not been in favor of Snapchat. Facebook's stock, on the other hand, continues to rise. That is the main reason for its new redesign . The app wants to improve for its loyal users and also fight for newcomers . Despite its intention to differentiate itself, Snapchat has used algorithms for its redesign , just like the queen of social networks does.
Snapchat wants to position itself as the opposite of Facebook. While Zuckerberg’s social network preaches community and uniting people around certain interests, Snapchat wants to position itself as an app focused on the individual and their network of friends , regardless of mutual interests. “Snapchat’s solution is to rely on algorithms based on interests, not the interests of friends, and to make sure that media companies in turn benefit from the content they produce for our Discover platform,” said Evan Spiegel , CEO of Snapchat.
Visually, there hasn’t been much change, as the main change hasn’t been adding something but removing it . Previously, Snapchat was divided into Chat (on the left), Stories (on the right) and Discover (further right).
