Expenses you can deduct without an invoice

A fundamental issue for all self-employed workers is taxes and, specifically, the expenses that we can deduct . In principle, the Treasury requires us to justify all expenses from which we want to deduct VAT and requires, for this, a duly completed invoice . However, there are certain expenses that we can deduct even if we do not have the invoice.
To do this we will only need to meet several requirements :

Expenses must be directly related to your professional activity.
They must appear in the expense or investment books.
We will need a ticket or receipt that justifies each of the expenses that we are going to deduct. For example, a bank statement specifying the concept will do.

Financial expenses

Insurance policies
We will need the bank statement of all insurance policies that are directly related to our work activity to justify it to the Treasury. Expenses you make outside of Spain that are necessary for your business are also deductible. These are usually online purchases that are not always justified with an invoice. You will often have a receipt or similar document, so you can use it to justify the expenses. Be careful because if the amount is very high, you should ask for a document containing the details of the purchase as explicitly as possible.

Transfers and private contracts
Some commercial contracts serve as supporting documents that replace invoices. This is the case of transfers of premises or the deposit for a rental contract, for example. In these cases, in addition to the contract, we must also justify it with the bank statement to record the amount.

Taxes
The property tax (IBI) of the premises in which we carry out our activity, the tax on economic activities (IAE), the municipal garbage tax for the premises, the road tax for the vehicle we use professionally and other types of taxes related to your business. To deduct them we will need the bank receipt where the concept is expressed.
