you are exempt from the training course. This applies to trained chefs, for example. The exemption certificate required for this costs 50 euros. If you have a foreign professional qualification , this will be checked in advance by the IHK FOSA (Foreign Skills Approval) to ensure that it is equivalent to German professional qualifications .

The requirements and obligations of a food business
Introduction to relevant hygiene measures when handling food

Hazard analysis and critical control points according to the so-called HACCP concept , i.e. “Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points”
Regulations for the labelling of menus and drinks lists
What the Youth Protection Act is and why it is important for the catering industry
What the Non-Smoker Protection Act and its Relevance for the Gastronomy
Three requirements for receiving your certificate
In order to successfully complete the restaurant training with a certificate, you need a valid ID, sufficient language skills and you must attend all lessons, whether in person or online .
If these requirements are not fully met, you will not be given a certificate of training for your restaurant.
Restaurant instruction in German
The course leaders of the IHK restaurant training course speak German and all lessons are held in German . In order to register for and participate in the course, you must have sufficient language skills. Check on your own responsibility whether your level of knowledge is sufficient
