This is the penultimate episode of our series of whatsapp data articles dedicated to WordPress. If you follow it, you may have noticed this figure, which I had already mentioned in the introduction to the series: 60%. This is the percentage of WordPress installations within websites using a CMS. WordPress therefore has nearly 60% of the market share. It is used on a total of 25% of websites in the world.
So this week we answer the question: why is WordPress ubiquitous?
First of all, the first reason is that WordPress is a CMS. The second is that it is free. Content management systems are undoubtedly the future of the web. It has become much more popular in recent years, and will probably continue to do so. CMS allow inexperienced users to maintain a website, put content online or configure a site.

Within companies, this means that different profiles can use WordPress, particularly thanks to its support for multiple users.
Last week we talked about plugins. The week before we talked about themes. All these WordPress features that call on external developers create a real community around the software. Many people are invested in this community. This allows beginner users to be supported during their first steps with the system.

What's more, WordPress is also a real marketplace. Even though the software is free and open-source, many people around the world owe their jobs to the existence of WordPress. Theme developers, plugin developers, etc.
