MyHeritage continues its push into deepfake with LiveStory

Both this feature and its predecessor list of us cell phone numbers are examples of how brands have been increasingly experimenting with deepfake technology and other AI-generated media. “ You can have people tell their story ,” says Gil Perry , CEO and co-founder of D-ID. “It was clear that we needed to do something bigger with MyHeritage,” he continues.

He also stressed that there are measures in place to ensure that this does not get out of hand. The terms of use state that the tool can only be used for photos of deceased people or people who have given their consent . The system is also unable to imitate a real voice, as the narration is provided by a generic synthetic voice.
