Corporate Gifts… Loyalty Marketing

Who doesn't like receiving a gift? It is surely one of the actions that most awakens our senses. It is a social nomenclature that is intrinsic to human nature (giving, receiving and returning).

If we take this “present” to the world of Marketing , and according to Belk 's words at the end of the seventies: “the main value of the gift is symbolic, displacing the economic and functional value to a secondary level” .

This is precisely the success of corporate gifts, it is not what they give, but how they give it and the ability to establish a “why”.

I have been in the advertising and marketing world for 20 years, and I have had the pleasure of participating in many loyalty campaigns. One strategy that I use quite a lot is “event marketing” , although it requires a preparation time and resources that are usually greater than any corporate gift campaign.

I remember that a couple of years ago, I contacted the company Creapromocion.com via the Internet (I'll leave you a link to their interview in case you want to know more about them). I had little time and, in addition, few ideas. What surprised me the most was that, instead of asking me what I wanted, they asked me when iran telegram mobile phone number list I wanted it. And they probably had the "what" , but the "when" was important to meet their strict and efficient delivery deadlines. They recommended me some personalized umbrellas, since it was a campaign in a city where it rained more than 120 days a year.

But corporate gifts are not only used in marketing as a loyalty campaign. Their impact is “infinite” . Try to remember the pens you have in your desk pencil holder, the lighters smokers carry around, the shirts they wear when they go out to play sports… Many of these items have advertising; and they are recurring appearances that reach a huge audience.

My recommendation is that you include items in your Marketing Plans for corporate gifts. In addition, you can even make distinctions. There are companies that invest in fewer but higher quality gifts. They aim to obtain ambassadors for their brands, people who, happy with the quality gift they have been given, practice “buzz marketing” (word of mouth, as always), promoting the company brand in a totally natural and organic way.

And I'll tell you more, employees can also be part of this "equation" . Not only will they be able to have their clients as ambassadors, employees will probably be the ones who can sell them the most and the best. They know the idiosyncrasy of the company, its potential, the products/services better than anyone else.

The “claims” of these gifts can be very diverse. It will depend on what you are selling, whether it is a product or a service, whether what you now require is to increase the brand image, and so on.

Although you can always opt for traditional items such as pens, t-shirts or caps, nowadays there are many interesting and more innovative options, such as personalised water bottles to take to the office or gym, Bluetooth speakers to listen to music or the radio from your mobile phone, even shopping bags, now that the issue of plastic has become very serious. Although everything will depend on the type of company, environment, budget and, of course, its target audience. I would hardly run the umbrella campaign in Fuerteventura or Lanzarote…
