CM: “Community Manager.” No further explanation needed, right?

A few days ago, one of my students at UNED asked me several questions through the platform, and since it was difficult to help him properly in writing, I replied: "Send me a phone number I can call you on Twitter via DM, and we'll discuss it." The student sent me a direct message via Twitter: "Hi María, I'm the student who asks a thousand questions in the community," but he didn't give me his phone number. And on Google+, he told me: "I sent you a message on Twitter, but I don't know what DM means."
“Back to basics!” I said to myself. Sometimes we forget to explain the most basic things, but they're no less necessary.
So for all those just starting out on social media, here's an urgent dictionary of social media acronyms, which complements the dictionaries already available on this blog about digital marketing and mobile marketing .
AMA: “Ask Me Anything” is an open question-and-answer session in which the AMA host agrees to answer all questions posed to them within a set period of time. This is a popular approach on Reddit (Barack Obama held an AMA there three years ago ), and has spread to other social media platforms, primarily Twitter, but not only: in September 2013, for example, José Manuel Barroso was the first President of the European Commission to host an AMA via a Google+ hangout, using the hashtag #AskBarroso . The chosen social network, the duration of the AMA, the formula of the call and the choice of the hashtag are crucial for the success of an AMA: in July 2014, the Manchester City football team had to cancel the AMA it had organized with Jesús Navas because the chosen hashtag, #AskJesus, was systematically trolled by Christian communities. Here are some tips on how to choose a hashtag and get it right .
CPF: "Cost per follower" is the price associated with phone number library campaigns to gain followers on Twitter, through the Promoted Account format of Twitter Ads. Not to be confused with the purchase of followers (a practice that is useless and lacks any strategy). The cost per Twitter follower is linked to the bidding system that governs Twitter Ads advertising campaigns. Other ways to determine the cost of an online advertising campaign are CPA (cost per action), CPC (cost per click), CPM (cost per thousand), CPL (cost per lead), CPV (cost per view, in the case of YouTube campaigns), and CPS (cost per sale). To compare campaigns billed using different pricing models, eCPM (effective cost per thousand) is used. CTA: “Call to action” is the copy or slogan that seeks to incite the audience to take a specific action, whether it be completing a subscription, requesting more information, purchasing a product, etc.
