The Hippo Dilemma

Post by asimd23 »

The hippopotamus spends most of its life sleeping or resting. These seemingly harmless animals, which look as if they are always smiling, are among the most dangerous animals. In August, a Chinese tourist died while taking photos of these wild animals.

Erika Hedwig Bertschinger-Eicke, better known as Uriella, also seemed a bit like a hippopotamus. The woman, who was always smiling, perhaps reminded observers of her older, slightly confused aunt. Uriella's qatar rcs data appearances on Swiss television and on TeleZüri, where she often seemed overwhelmed and smiled uncertainly, will remain unforgettable.

What must not be forgotten is that the "Fiat Lux" sect, founded in Egg in 1980, kept the courts busy for years: Since several members of the sect died because they relied on Uriella's medicine, the woman was charged. Uriella was released, however, due to a lack of evidence. In the spring of 1993, she was fined one million francs by the Ausserrhoden High Court for drug smuggling.

“Blick” readers learn nothing of this in the February 26 edition. The tabloid proudly reports: “She gave Blick her last autograph.” The background to this relic: “Blick had given her fans white chocolate and white flowers for her on the occasion of her big birthday.” The reporting on her death (“Pain until her last breath”) is reminiscent in parts of an obituary on Elvis Presley, complete with miracle stories.

It seems strange that a Swiss newspaper would give chocolate and flowers to a convicted cult leader. It is tragic that the "Blick" newspaper did not write a critical review that day. And it is regrettable that Ringier apparently does not want to answer the questions of the "Zürcher Oberländer" and "Anzeiger von Uster".
