Avoid duplicate keywords

Use localization options
With the AppStore available in 175 countries/regions and translated into 40 languages, localization allows you to improve your app’s reach in the global market. Using localization options, you allow users to see your app’s landing page in the language of their region. An added benefit is that you get an additional 160 characters for ranking.

For example: for users russia cell phone number list from Austria, in addition to the primary language German, you can add metadata English (UK).

Contrary to popular belief, duplicating keywords in the title, heading or subheading does not contribute to better indexing. Otherwise, you only take up space with duplicate queries, and the system may impose a penalty for spam.

It should be noted that the AppStore automatically indexes the application by additional keywords. So, if you added the phrase "children's games", then the queries "children's" and "games" are already added to the list of keywords.

The same applies to plural forms of words in English. If you have already specified "video" in the keyword field, then the query "videos" is automatically added to the list. Note that if you want to rank for plural or singular queries in other languages, then both keywords should be added to the metadata.

For example: photography – photographs, arcade – arcades, puzzle – puzzles.

How to work with branded queries
According to the AppStore requirements, metadata prohibits the inclusion of other brands or trademarks. However, there are cases when using branded queries is simply necessary for better visibility of the application.

In this case, you can use the following methods:

Please indicate the brand or trademark name in English. For example: not Instagram, but Instagram.
Specify the brand or trademark name with a typo if it is justified by the demand for the query. For example: when entering queries, most users can accidentally miss a letter, and you will get not Instagram, but Instgram. It is important to analyze user search queries in order not to use low-frequency queries.
The use of a brand name or trademark is permitted if the application is directly related to it.

Additional tips for working with metadata
Working with metadata requires a persistent and balanced approach. Unfortunately, it is not enough to just fill in all the fields once, because this approach will not bring the expected immediate results. You need to understand what works best in order to keep up with new trends in the market and adapt to certain external events. In particular, the following recommendations will be useful:

Do not use special characters such as –, @ or *, as the algorithms do not take them into account during indexing.
Check your keyword rankings regularly. If there are keywords in your keyword field that haven't improved in rankings for a long time, replace them with another term or synonym.
More is not better. You only have a few seconds to grab the user’s attention and make them click “read more” or “download.” Make the first few lines of metadata concise, informative, and engaging.
