Rosleskhoz plans to begin an experiment in spring 2024 to integrate data between the Federal State Information System of the Forest Complex (FGIS LK) and the ERA-GLONASS navigation system in the Arkhangelsk and Ulyanovsk regions. For this purpose, timber trucks, logging and forest firefighting equipment will be equipped with GLONASS. This is stated in a joint press release of Rosleskhoz and Roslesinforg (the federal forest accounting organization).
will become mandatory for all forest fire and logging equipment.
As noted in the report, the egypt whatsapp number database Arkhangelsk and Ulyanovsk regions were chosen as pilot regions because they were the first to begin working in a unified forestry information system that combines information from the State Forest Register, i.e. contains documents on forests, their use, protection, conservation, reproduction, forestry, and also collects information on timber accounting and transactions with it.
"During 2024, all regions will connect to the system, which will ensure a unified approach to forest management and simplify the receipt of state "forest" services. The inclusion of navigation data on the movement of forest equipment in the FGIS LK will supplement information on timber turnover and will allow monitoring its movement at all stages, including the initial stage of logging, as soon as the equipment enters the forest," the press release quotes Pavel Chashchin, director of Roslesinforg, as saying.
According to Roslesinforg, 157.8 thousand vehicles were used in 2023 to transport timber and lumber alone. According to Rosleskhoz, 16.14 thousand units of equipment are used in logging operations in the country, of which almost 11 thousand require cellular and satellite communications. There are 14.64 thousand units of forest fire equipment in the country, of which 8.7 thousand have yet to be equipped with the GLONASS system.
Information from the vehicle via the ERA-GLONASS system will be transmitted to the FGIS LK every 15 minutes, or every 5 km, when the vehicle is moving (when parked - every two hours). If there is no possibility of transmitting navigation information, a special device will automatically save it in its internal memory (to maintain control over transportation in areas without satellite coverage). The navigation package will be stored directly in the FGIS LK for three years.
The following data will be transmitted to the FGIS LC: vehicle number, speed, vehicle category, what type of fuel it runs on, whether the panic button is pressed, ignition on and off, whether the housing of the satellite navigation equipment is opened, etc.
