Some people prefer to hand in their two-week notice letter at the end of their work day, while others prefer to do so in the morning. So, is there a right time to send in your notice? Let's talk about it.

Choosing the right moment
Announcing your resignation in a team meeting where your boss may be discussing a setback on a project is not ideal. Nor is it okay to blurt it out in a chat, even if you have a good relationship with your boss.

Here are some examples of the "right time" to submit your two-week notice letter:

At the beginning of the week : Handing in your official notice letter on a Monday coo email list gives your boss a week to plan your exit, think about alternatives, discuss your exit interview with HR, etc.
After Closing a Critical Project : Breaking the news of your departure during a project could impact your team members or coworkers. So, if you can, give notice after you complete your project responsibilities.
During a quiet period : Avoid breaking the news of your resignation during busy seasons or times of heavy workload, such as when project deadlines are approaching. This will prevent disruptions and allow things to flow smoothly.
In a private conversation : If you share a good relationship with your boss or have frequent 1:1 feedback sessions, inform your boss about your resignation during those conversations. This will maintain confidentiality and give your boss time to plan things out.
But if your boss doesn't hold frequent meetings, you should ask about his or her availability and arrange a meeting to discuss your resignation.

Maintain a conversation in person
A face-to-face conversation is the best way to announce your resignation. So, meet with your boss in person or connect with him or her via a quick video conference or phone call. Be prepared to answer questions about your departure and offer suggestions about alternative arrangements.

A Quick Note : Connect with your boss before signing the new employment contract. This will help you evaluate alternative arrangements and make the best decision. Additionally, it will help you avoid situations like turning down an accepted job offer .
