Competition and new solutions

Post by tanjimajuha20 »

Alexander Chernyshev, head of the department for work with government bodies at MTS Link, told a ComNews journalist that most government organizations are indeed already using or testing Russian software. "However, this does not mean that 95% of the Russian government sector has already switched to domestic software. In order to understand the real situation on the market, we prefer to consider data from independent analytical companies," said Alexander Chernyshev.

A study of large businesses azerbaijan whatsapp number database conducted by the TAdviser analytical center at the end of 2023 showed that 60% of companies use several solutions at once in corporate communications, including foreign ones. Among the respondents were representatives of the public sector.

Alexander Chernyshev believes that competition among videoconferencing services is constantly increasing, and noted that this is good news for customers, since new offers are constantly appearing, and the quality and functionality of existing solutions are growing. "Russian developers offer round-the-clock support in Russian and focus on the requests of local customers when creating new functions and tools," said Alexander Chernyshev. He believes that using Russian technologies is more cost-effective in most cases.

Dmitry Sery said that in the segment of traditional, classic videoconferencing based on SIP and H.32 protocols, which is the standard for the public sector, is used for video selectors and provides a full "presence effect", no new solutions have appeared. This is a narrow direction, difficult to develop, and most market participants prefer to go in a more simplified technological class of web conferences, where the priority is not the quality of the video, but a number of additional functionality for collaboration.

Forecasts for 2024

"Competition between Russian videoconferencing developers has increased in recent years: new players have emerged, including information technology giants endowed with powerful administrative resources and budgets. This year, the fight for the market will continue to gain momentum," says Dmitry Sery, predicting that the transition to Russian videoconferencing will continue in 2024. "The trigger for the growth in the number of implementations is, among other things, the deadline set by the end of the year for the transition of critical information infrastructure facilities to fully domestic software," he said.

Alexander Chernyshev named unified communications - the unification of all business communications within a single interface - as the main trend of VKS. "Such platforms will save time on switching between applications, implementing integrations and choosing new services. That is why Russian vendors pay a lot of attention to providing comprehensive solutions," said Alexander Chernyshev.

He believes that the most important driver for the development of videoconferencing systems is the widespread use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. AI-based solutions are already available in many Russian services. MTS Link, for example, offers automatic transcription and summarizing of meetings, noise reduction, blurring and background replacement.

Alexander Chernyshev noted that another focus area for Russian developers is hybrid communications. "Video conferencing systems need to allow colleagues in the office and remotely to participate equally actively in meetings, and new software and hardware are being developed for this purpose," he believes.
