MTS, Beeline and Megafon tested the joint use of equipment and frequencies to cover small towns. This follows from the materials of the State Commission on Radio Frequencies, which are at the disposal of CNews. At the next meeting, it will discuss the results of the experiment with the operators.

The experiment also used equipment from Ericsson and Nokia, which had left Russia. In addition, equipment from a little-known Chinese manufacturer of small base stations, Baicells, was used. According to some operators, there were problems with it.

Why are such experiments albania whatsapp number database conducted and what can be the results? Eldar Murtazin, leading analyst at Mobile Research Group, comments: "Today, there is a program to eliminate digital inequality in small towns, where operators must provide communications in towns. At the same time, if one of the operators has installed a base station there, others must get access to it. Today, there are quite a lot of such points, but we must understand that there is no economy for operators there, not for a single one. That is, we have selected all more or less significant towns, and then the state must support, invest in the emergence of communications, which it does. Nevertheless, we still have a significant number of villages with a population of less than 50 people, where there are no economic prerequisites for work at all. And here we come up against the fact that the state, for its part, must somehow ensure the operation of communications in these towns and finance them, and de facto there is no money in the budget for this in the required amount. Therefore, there is dancing around this, when the possibilities are being studied, how and what equipment to install, what to do in order to provide this communication. Small towns do not require high bandwidth, they will install old equipment there, which will gradually be replaced with Russian equipment. Previously, the model in Russia was different. In large cities, prices were higher than in the regions, especially in small towns, due to this, more income was redistributed throughout the country, due to this, networks were built throughout the country and supported. Today, the state does not allow prices for communications to be raised, considering this a social function. Based on this, we come to the conclusion that there is nowhere to take the money from, so we can directly say that failure to increase prices for communications leads to communications in the regions also becoming more expensive, but at the same time, it will not be built, as in previous years."

Leonid Konik, CEO of the ComNews group of companies, comments: "They would probably be happy to use excellent domestic stations, but no one has seen them yet. Therefore, we have to use Nokia Ericsson and Huawei equipment. Surely, it is either from the warehouse of a cellular operator, which is less likely, two years have passed since the sanctions were launched, I think that the warehouse stocks have long been exhausted. Therefore, this equipment, which is brought in parallel from abroad, is all, of course, used, which some operators in Europe or Asia dismantled, sold, there is no other. As for the Chinese manufacturer, the Baicells company has existed for a good ten years, its specialization is small cells and private networks, LTE, to put it simply, it specializes in equipment for networks with small coverage. It is absolutely not a fact that the equipment of this company is capable of covering large areas, but Baicells is perfect for covering a small settlement where one base station is needed. But the fact that it is Chinese, unfortunately, in the situation with this company, does not mean that it is friendly. Because if you go to the Baicells website, it will say "American company Baicells". De jure, this is not true, their main office is in Beijing, but already in the second year of this company's life, they opened an office in Texas. The entire business of this company is focused on the American market, and then the European one. Given the sanctions history, I do not really believe that the Baicells company itself will be willing to directly supply huge volumes of equipment to Russia. With the results, it seems to me, it is clear. I have absolutely no doubt that the experiment will be a huge success, because it is clear that if you technically open the possibility of using one base station by several operators, then it works. The load on such a base station is obviously small, if we are talking about small towns. Therefore, no one loses anything, everyone only wins. In a situation of a shortage of base stations, this is a real breath of oxygen and a way to save a scarce resource."

Megafon noted that a number of problems were identified during the joint use of equipment. At the same time, MTS did not encounter any difficulties.
