LinkedIn launches video profile presentations and a new creator mode

LinkedIn is the largest professional network in the world, with more than 740 million registered members on its platform, from around 200 countries. Given its professional nature, this social network has not been as influenced by trends as other social networks such as Facebook or Instagram.


However, since last year the network has been updating the image and interface of its platform , adapting to the new trends of the digital world. In the same way, it has announced some new updates in order to improve professional profiles.

Cover Stories and other LinkedIn updates to boost professional profiles
The main one of these updates is Cover Stories, short videos that will allow members to present themselves to users of the social network in a different way. For example, when you upload a cover story, an orange ring will appear around your profile photo, also offering a preview of the video. The LinkedIn team calls this the “Harry Potter” effect, and they have indicated that the possibility of adding subtitles will soon be available .

The aim of this new form of presentation is to boost professional profiles and facilitate recruitment processes. As explained in the press release, “ According to a recent survey conducted in the United States, almost 80% (76%) of hiring managers believe that it would be useful to see a pre-recorded video of a job applicant. ”
