The regions where the largest number of destroyed residential buildings was recorded include Donetsk, Kyiv, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Kherson.

The systematic destruction that occurs during war is not accidental. Buildings that reflect historical and symbolic values are chosen in such a way that their destruction evokes a sense of hopelessness in people. Over time, the destruction of special database cultural heritage must gradually lead to the disintegration of social values, traditions, and ultimately the identity of society.

In essence, Ukraine is experiencing a war for its identity, as the most frequently attacked are traditional buildings that carry deep values in the historical collective memory for many years, from generation to generation, buildings and public places with symbolic values fixed in the minds of people, for example, memorials, ancient fortresses, city squares, etc., religious and cultural buildings, as well as buildings known to people as buildings of universities, schools, etc.

As of June 25, 2023, according to the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, Russian aggression has destroyed 664 cultural heritage sites.


The specific characteristics of real estate make the real estate market particularly susceptible to imbalance. Properties of the real estate market include fixed location, size, and other intrinsic characteristics that cannot be easily replicated or duplicated. The lack of compatibility makes it difficult to achieve neoclassical equilibrium in the real estate market.
