afraid - Agnieszka's story
TALENT DAYS: Hi Agnieszka! You are our next Talent Hero who started working at LKW WALTER in Vienna. How did this whole story start?

AGNIESZKA: It's very complicated in general - I was in my last year of studies, I was working in a cinema as a manager, but I wanted to try something new, i.e. work abroad. The first idea was the United States and Work&Travel, but because of COVID, all tourism was closed. That's why I was looking for an alternative, but it was very hard to find something good. For example, in Ireland they expected me to speak Irish at B2 level. So I started looking for something with German, because I had started learning it myself. I came to a job fair where there were a lot of offers in German. On LinkedIn I found the company CONTAINEX, it's one of the companies from the WALTER GROUP, and I saw that they would be there and I decided it was worth talking to them. I asked about the things that interested me, I liked it and I got interested in another company from this group - LKW WALTER .

TALENT DAYS: Did you find out about the fair from your university, just like Grzegorz?

AGNIESZKA: I found out exactly the same way, because like Grzegorz, I studied at the same university. Additionally, I received newsletters from you, so I knew when and what classes and workshops to expect. Many people also come for inspiration - me too. I came to the stationary fair earlier to get a feel for what it was like. Then, when I already knew exactly what I wanted, I took part in the fair in the remote edition and immediately wanted to meet with LKW WALTER.

TALENT DAYS: During the fair, you weren't looking for your first job, you mentioned that you had already taken on a managerial position. What advice could you give to young people who are looking for their first job?

AGNIESZKA: Try and look for your place, because it is very important to find a job that you like. Fortunately, I have the impression that our generation does this, looks for what they really like. Work hard and gain qualifications, because the more experience, the more you can do. Then you can open something of your own, present more to the employer and feel more confident. If something is not right, change your place of work, because you have your whole life ahead of you and there is no point in struggling in some environment.

TALENT DAYS: What were your beginnings abroad like? How do you assess your development opportunities at LKW WALTER?
