Can I use more than one H1 on a page?
Yes, you can use more than one H1 on a page. If you follow HTML5 guidelines , each block element could or should have a semantic heading structure, starting at H1 and going all the way up to H6, if necessary. This means that multiple H1s can be added to a page.
The question that remains is whether this would be good SEO practice. If we add an H1 to every block on a page, which heading would be the most important? Does it make sense to make italy cell phone number list every blog title on the blog archive page an H1? Would a search engine be able to understand it? Probably yes. But, in my opinion, each H1 loses a bit of value with the addition of the next one.
What should I have done?
Determine the keyword you want to focus on on that page and create a compelling H1 as the main title. If it's an archive page, use the main keyword and create a title around it. Use H2s for all article titles listed on that page.
One H1 per page isn't a strict rule, but for SEO, it makes perfect sense.
Come on, folks. No, there are no stupid SEO questions. Seriously, there aren’t. But this one gets asked so often that it should be in an SEO museum at this point.
