Open Letter to a Censor

Post by asimj1 »

I was dismayed to learn that you stopped the program "Roger against Roger" at short notice . The debates had become "unproductive" in light of Roger Köppel's candidacy for the National Council for the SVP. This was "no longer acceptable for many listeners of Radio 1". The owner and head of the local radio station for adults only can be quoted as netherlands rcs data saying: "I only made this decision after much hesitation and many discussions. But my basic journalistic understanding allows no other conclusion." Talking to the person most affected beforehand is obviously not part of this basic understanding.

I have a few questions about such a basic understanding of journalism. Against the following background. Not only on the occasion of the Hildebrand affair, there was hardly anyone who publicly criticized Roger Köppel more strongly than I did. I even suggested that the paper should be closed and demanded that the owner instruct the publisher to fire the editor-in-chief for serious mistakes, which was unfortunately not possible because of the dual nature of the two. A few weeks later, this editor-in-chief published an article of mine in the "Weltwoche" without hesitation. You too, Roger, have repeatedly found space in the columns of the magazine to publish your opinion, which is completely contrary to that of your namesake.
