Head of Rosmorrechflot: Tanker Volgoneft-239 to be disposed of on site

The Volgoneft-239 tanker, which sank in 2024 and is now aground off the coast of Krasnodar Krai, will be disposed of on site after the fuel oil is pumped out. This was announced on Sunday, January 19, by Rosmorrechflot head Andrei Tarasenko.

Air defense officer Igor Pashkov was sentenced to investor database in a penal colony for the destruction of a military Mi-8 helicopter in Crimea, Kommersant reports .

Pashkov served as a senior assistant to the operational duty command post of one of the air defense units stationed in Crimea. He appeared before the garrison military court of Sevastopol on charges under Part 3 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (negligence resulting in the death of three persons through negligence).

As the court established, on the morning of October 18, 2023, when Pashkov was on combat duty, he received a report about the detection of a low-flying, low-speed aerial target. The reporter gave him his call sign, but the officer who received the message made a mistake in the call sign number, reporting to the leadership that the unidentified target was in another location, saying that a decision had to be made to destroy the target.
